being a kid...
Ella was down for the evening after Aideen was home from Drama camp...and they were SO delighted just to be together ! These guys go together like starwberries and cream ! Ella was thrilled to be on her first "proper" day of the (public) school holidays, as shes been at camp ,etc...and is going to Italy on Sunday with her family for two weeks, so the time together was SO precious today...I HAD to capture them all "cowerin" (coluring in) in the kitchen...its great to just BE a kid...especially in summer time :)

Stars in their eyes...
Today we went to the FANTASTIC new stage school thats just opened across the road from us (literally)...is`nt that fantastic ??? Aideen has goten into the singing lesson classes (beginning in Sept) and Daisy, although only 2 was taken for the junior classes...the girls, Grainne and Jennifer , (manager and ballet teacher) were SO impressed with Daisys natural "dramatic personality" that shes starting classes with Aideen in September !!!! Normally we dont go in for this kind of thing , but Aideen is getting to the age now where singing into the hairbrush just isnt enough and we all sat down and discussed it , and by cutting some pocket money and a few other bits , we can afford to send the kids to the girls...both Sean and myself really got a good feeling from the girls , they truly are in this because they want to do it , they have a pssion for it and both the kids loved them , I know they`re going to get on great...so whether the kids end up singing at family gatherings or on broadway...(we`re proud of them anyway) ...watch this space ! Enjoy the photos...

Our compost will appreciate all this lot...enough to make at least one bale of hay I reackon :0)
Red-currents, ready for picking !
Daisy`s magnificent eyes !

It`s Daisy`s 2nd birthday on Sunday, and we`re huge fans of the good old-fashioned kids party at home, including home-made food, home-made decorations etc...so today we`ve been busy doing just that ,after supper , as we spent most of the day in the garden weeding ,etc...honestly the rain has made the weeds and grass grow SO quickly ! I`m a fan of "weeds" myself, or wildflowers as I prefer to call them and wont pull them until they`ve lived their full life ,and flowered...it was a long day but we`re getting there...this evening Aideen also finished sewing (by hand) her present for Daisy...a little teddy bear...SO cute, and what finished me off was when she was stuffing the bear she put in a little heart-shaped button inside the bear, how sweet is that ??? Well heres some pics of whats been going on today , off for a cuppa now...see ya`l tomorrow ;)

Light a candle...
whenever family or friends or anyone asks me to keep them in my thoughts and prayers and always promise to light a candlefor them...and I do...its my way of "praying"...I light the candle in my bedroom window so the light can "shine" out for them...and although not very religious ,i`ve always, since I was a child ,loved lighting candles in the chapel! When we were home in Wexford, Aideen lit 5 candles in the village church, herself and Shauna LOVED lighting the candels at home as the candles are real ,not fake lights like the ones in most town chapels (obviously for safety etc)...they sed to call the candle sconce "Gods birthday cake" :o)
Heres a poem thats printed beside the candle box in the chapel at home ,I wrote it down to make copies of it...somehow it covers why we light candles for each other , whether for religious reasons or not...(Dee I`ve lit a candle for you Hon ,so sorry you had water damage in the shop...can`t wait to see you and so glad you enjoyed the letters!)...

SO lucky to have laughter
I`ve always considered my self to have been SO lucky to have parents who had a wonderful ,and fun relationship...even though hard up ,they were never afraid to laugh...as you can see by this (my favourite) photo of them...it was taken on their 25th wedding anniversary...and they obviously couldnt hold in the giggles :0) also I`ve posted a photo taken of Daisy tonight who , as usual went to bed laughing !!! I`m sure God intended for us to laugh loud and often :0)
Also tonight I finished crocheting a simple shawl for myself...its cool in the evenings out in the garden , yet too warm for a heavy top...so hopefully this will do the trick...
